Fiverr – Fiverr is a very popular freelance marketplace where you can advertise your skills such as data entry, writing, translating, transcribing, photo editing and virtually any skill that you have. If you are looking for data entry jobs, you Fiverr is a great place to promote your data entry skills and find data entry gigs.

A lot of people (myself included) choose to freelance from home full-time. It’s a great way to have a lot of flexibility, work on the projects you want, and set your own rates. But, the world of freelancing can often seem like an endless cycle of feast or famine — one week you have more work than you know what to do with and the next week, absolutely nothing.

Teaching English isn’t your only option in the field of online education. Companies hire tutors for a range of academic subjects, such as math, biology, or writing. You could make $18 per hour or more tutoring students, depending on the subject matter.

Their training is done online and is self-paced. You could finish the program in 4 months but 6 months is probably more realistic. They do however give you up to a year to get it all done. Their program is approved by the American Health Information Management Association and the American Academy of Professional Coders. They work specifically with a company called IOD inc. that hires their grads to work from home right out of the program.

A web developer builds websites from the ground up. This job requires a great knowledge of html and CSS and the ability to write code from scratch. Web developers generally build and maintain high traffic websites or develop software.

Research, research, research: It’s important to know exactly whom you’re working for. When you find a job posting you’re interested in, take special care to research the company that’s hiring. Check them out with the Better Business Bureau and conduct a Web search for any complaints or less-than-stellar reviews.

This is a great and comprehensive article, but the website/search engine evaluating jobs and the transcriber jobs I checked out that I think I’d be a good fit for require 3-5 years of experience each, and as a college student, I don’t have that. Are there any decent paying (50-200 dollars a month) jobs that don’t require experience in the job field yet?

And there’s another lesson there. If you do try to earn extra money, whether it’s running your own business or hosting dogs, you want to make sure your work-from-home job doesn’t bug your family. Of course, in Neal’s case, bugging your family may be exactly the way to go.

There’s not always a lot of part-time work from home employee jobs out there. And when you do find them, they often come with longer hiring and training which means it could be months before you actually see any money come in.

I think Direct Sales is definitely one of the most overlooked ways to start a cheap, home based business. You do need to interact with a lot of people, but with blogs and social media, that is easy!

  1. Networking remains the top way to find a job and it does work. Develop contacts – friends, family, college alumni, even the other job seekers – anyone who might help generate information and job leads. You can take a direct approach and ask for job leads or try a less formal approach and ask for information and advice. Contact everyone you know and tell them you want to work from home. You may be surprised by the people they know and the leads you can generate.
    Regardless of how you apply, it’s important to follow the company’s application instructions, to submit all the required materials, and to carefully proofread your application before you click the “Submit” button.
    Full time work at home is not limited to programmers or virtual assistants. We have accountants, systems and network administrators, customer service representatives, technical support representatives, medical transcriptionists, and so on.
