I own a small business and am due soon and was hoping for a way to seek out an at-home supplemental income but was only landing on continual scams (and that’s from someone who considers themself a thorough researcher). This is a time when it makes sense not to simply search the web search engines. I’ve found that searching for “work at home” most often brings up scams or websites that want to charge you for providing “real” work at home jobs or for “proven successful” home business information. Rather, stick with the sites that focus on employment.

Despite constant updates to their algorithms, search engines are still riddled with errors. They rely on real humans to look at search results and offer feedback on quality, accuracy and usefulness. That’s where you come in.

Do you have some basic knowledge about coding like HTML, and knowledge about SEO and CMS (Content Management Systems) like WordPress? Then, you can earn an income by designing websites for new businesses and professionals or individuals who want to establish their online presence via a new website. They may be interested in redesigning their existing websites too. You can find web design and graphic design jobs with companies like 99 Designs, iFreelance, Fiverr,  Aquent, etc.  You can also contact companies and individuals with existing sites to revamp their sites with your web design services. You can also offer your services to small local businesses who may be interested in creating their websites for the first time.

Amazon.com’s part-time employees (minimum of 20 hours per week) work in home call centers in certain states. During November and December part-timers may have to work full time. Search “work from home” in Amazon’s job database. Jobs pay $10-12/hour.

Full-time jobs that provide health insurance, a pension, vacation, and other benefits while you work full-time from home, especially if you don’t have experience, are few and far between. Finding them online is a little like looking for a needle in a haystack.

However, companies that may not be scams may still not be good opportunities to make money. Data entry is a low-paying field in…MORE general, and some companies may pay so low as to make it not worth your time. Not only will you need in-depth technical knowledge, but you should also have excellent communication skills. You’ll need be expected to troubleshoot problems and support customers over email, chat, or ticket systems. According to Payscale, gaming support reps could make about $18 per hour.
